Welcome Home, Matthew!

Phyllis' Mom recently adopted Matthew (pictured here enjoying noodles with Mom in China). Matthew is 7 years old and the adoption is now final. Today is the first day we've had a picture to post, but he's been in the USA with Mom since August 29.

Despite being hearing impaired (in China they diagnosed him as deaf but we're waiting to see what the American doctors think and Mom suspects that he does have some degree of hearing), Matthew has already learned the English alphabet, basic numbers, and a lot of sign language.

May God bless Matthew, give Mom wisdom in raising him, and may God bless you too!

Peregrine Falcon Sighting

While I (Phyllis) was out for a walk today I saw this incredible bird! I thought it might be some kind of falcon but wasn't sure until I got home and checked Ben's bird watching book. Sure enough, it was a peregrine falcon! Wish I'd brought my camera! But I found this one on the web for you so you can see one too.

Why are you bothering me?

Ben came up with the title for this post. Phyllis took the picture. The cat had burrowed so far into the laundry that we didn't know she was there until we picked up the basket and it weighed far more than it should have. Hope this makes you smile!
